London's National Theatre clad in Harlow timber

Harlow’s timber has found its way to London’s Southbank as part of the National Theatre.

The striking building (pictured), close to the famous London Eye, is being used as a temporary theatre whilst renovation work is carried out on the interior of the main building.

Harlows supplied over 5000 metres of selected cladding for the temporary building which was later painted on site by contractors to make it stand out on the edge of the River Thames.

Simon Ward, Business Development Manager at Harlows, said: “This was a great project for us to supply knowing that our timber would be seen by thousands of people in such a prominent location.

“Although this timber size is not a stock item for us, we are always able to offer a solution which in this case meant cutting it from larger section size timbers and cross cutting the material to the customers requirements. This meant that once it arrived on site it could be used instantly.”
